I voted for Kurt Russell from "Tombstone".
I wonder if Kurts Moustache was real in that film ?

According to my DVD,all the facial hair was real and grown by the actors.
That makes it more impressive.
I say that both Tombstone and DD Lewis in "Gangs of New York" both qualify.
Also, try viewing "The Duellists".The Napoleonic era facial hair was a delight as well.

Jim,
That's interesting. I have only just received a copy of 'Tombstone' through Amazon.com as it is no longer available in Australia. There is no comment at all about the facial hair on my copy.
I also got myself a copy of 'Gettysburg' and is well worth a look if you have not seen it. I think that with the exception of Sam Elliot, all facial hair is fake. Jeff Daniels takes the part of Colonel Joshua Chamberlain who has a most interesing moustache:
Anyway, I'll keep a lookout for other facial hair films.

For me, it has to be the actors in the movie "Tombstone".
Sam Elliott has worn his mo' in a number of films, so it just looks natural on him.
Val Kilmer, with his small, waxed 'tache really does make it for him in that film. I suppose it's also his swagger in that film; especially when he's daring Ringo Starr into a gunfight, telling him "...just say 'When'". Playing the part of an educated southern gentleman gone bad suits him to a "T".

I am a big fan of both Gangs of NY and Tombstone. Funny thing is, my wife gave me a hard time the other day when I was watching Tombstone... she gave me a cute smirk and asked me if I was enjoying my "stache porn".
Heh, I will admit that I have been paying closer attention to the staches since mine began growing... it just makes both movies that much more enjoyable!

There are not that many movie stars with handlebars. To be honest, also for me Tom Selleck was a favorite "television stache" before I discovered the handlebars..
