"A Handlebar Moustache is indeed a glorious facial hair feature. Whether it stands alone or crowns some other form of facial hair, the glory comes from it being a 'Handlebar' and not simply an ordinary moustache." - Schnauzer

This Saturday will be the 10th annual Whisker Club Beard and Moustache Competition in Silverdale, Washington, USA. If any of you are from the Seattle area and are keen to attend or compete check out this link:

http://whiskerclub.org/wc07.html

I will be attending and competing as well as shooting heaps of photos and a video as well. I will certainly be a busy bee but all in great fun. I hope to report later with results!!

JD

Sounds fantastic JD. I wish you the very best and look forward to some pictures and possibly a look at the video.

Greetings fellow handlebars!!!

Last weekend was the competition. What fun it was. The weather cooperated and there was a good turnout as well. The moustache category didn't disappoint as usual, and the chin beard/goatee and full beard groups were attended well.

There are three winners in each category.

Then the three first place winners compete at the end for "best of show".

Here are the results:

1st Place moustache category: Jim Ross

1st Place chin beard category: Tyler Campbell

1st Place full beard category: Robert Martin

Here is a pic of the three winners.

The best of show went to Tyler Campbell. Splendid showing for this 10th Annual event.
Bruce Roe was the reason this event is such a success and kudos go to him. He will be competing in Brighton next week. All the best to him and others competing.

Top hole, JD.

Just googled Bruce Roe and realised I'm probably entered into the same category as him at Brighton :!:

Maybe the same category but certainly not the same class!!

I reckon the only way I can compete is to go equiped with a flamethrower

Should not have bothered with the googling, I've just bumped into Bruce Roe and his lovely lady wife in Brighton. That moustache is MUCH more impressive in the flesh and they are really delightful people to boot.

Had a chat about your victory, JD and immediately restyled my own delicate hirsute offering into something other than Hungarian (Wild West)

Hi Yuzzzz!!! You make sure and say "Hello" to Bruce and Tommie for me!!! After all, I only saw them last weekend! LOL
Your stache is getting better every day my friend! I'm sure Bruce was impressed as well.
And yes, his handlebar is more impressive in person!!

Bent, I have won 1st place twice, a 3rd place and a 5th place(in 2004). I also took "best of show" along with 1st in 2005.

Thanks for the congrats all, and Steve, you have championship whiskers too. Hope all have fun in Brighton!!

Now I really hope to see some photos by Sunday!!!

And maybe a YouTube vid.

JD
