According to Wikipedia, a pomade is a greasy or waxy substance used to style hair... So maybe everything we use on our moustaches is a pomade of some kind...?

Stern's comes in a small metal tube and is kind of like a soft, greasy white paste that sets clear. I use it sometimes on my tips. You rub a small amount in with your fingers and then, as it starts to dry/harden, you style it as you like. It is very sculptable and has great holding power, but is water soluble - so bring an umbrella. It is worth a try! I say make the exchange

btw, if you search the Wax forum for Stern* you will surely find lots of info :stache:

This topic was originally a reply to Micawber's proposal to swap a tube of Stern for a tin of Bounder and has apparently been moved by the moderator... That's why I mentioned Stern's in particular in my reply. When it comes to the difference between a pomade, wax and paste, I'm still uncertain. I usually just call it all "wax" :?

I should have said a moderator, not the moderator - sorry if I implied it was you or if I implied it was a bad idea. I think it is a good idea to turn this into a topic about pomade

Upon further reflection, it seems to me that a wax is a pomade, but a pomade is not necessarily a wax (if it is of the more paste-like variety, such as the aforementioned Stern).

Anyone else want to give it a go?
