"A Handlebar Moustache is indeed a glorious facial hair feature. Whether it stands alone or crowns some other form of facial hair, the glory comes from it being a 'Handlebar' and not simply an ordinary moustache." - Schnauzer

On Friday 31st August, a bus tour for up to 50 people has been arranged for WBMC contestants, spectators and other visitors to the event in Brighton, Sussex, UK.

The traditional double-decker bus, with comfortable coach-type seats will leave the Brighton Centre at 9:00AM.

The Itinerary includes a special guided tour of historic Arundel Castle, a visit to a country pub, with one beer, wine or soft drink included, and a guided drive along the West Sussex resort coast and through the beautiful, mystical South Down hills. The tour cost £30 per person paid on the day to the Tour Guide.

Read more about it, and reserve your seat now on the WMBC Special Tour page.

Like many people coming from outside the UK, I'll arrive just the day before the WBMC i.e. on Friday afternoon. A pity really that I cannot take part. It would be nice if a complementary/alternative program could be set up for those staying in Brighton on Sunday.

Patrick, the tour organiser told me that the tour was originally requested by the US team who arrive in Brighton on Thursday. But they also wanted it offered to all WBMC participants who might be interested in coming too.

He added that if you are arriving on Friday, you really should spend your one free day on Sunday exploring and enjoying Brighton and its surroundings. There is so much to see there and it is at its liveliest and most typical on a summer Sunday.

There will be plenty of tips, information and guidance about what to do in your Welcome Packs.

If you want a taste of the Sussex countryside just outside Brighton, Patrick particularly recommends the open-top 77 bus trip to the ancient Devils's Dyke on the top of the South Downs with magnificent views. There is a bus stop by the West Pier near Regency Square where your hotels are and the Brighton Centre. It takes about 30 minutes, runs once or twice every hour and there is a reasonable chain pub restaurant at the final Devil's Dyke stop.

You can always contact Patrick via the blue "Sightseeing" button on the WBMC pages.

Regards

David

Patrick Hinchy, the Tour Organiser, has told me that Arundel Castle are so pleased to have our WBMC group visit that they have agreed to add an extra German-speaking guide to those available to us, which means the maximum number in our group can now be 60 instead of 50. Book now!

Hi David,

Thank you very much for the precious information.

I'm sure I will enjoy Brighton and - who knows - if some fellow moustache bearers are still there on sunday we could improvise a trip.

The open-top 77 bus trip seems great. I will probably seize the opportunity. :D
