"A Handlebar Moustache is indeed a glorious facial hair feature. Whether it stands alone or crowns some other form of facial hair, the glory comes from it being a 'Handlebar' and not simply an ordinary moustache." - Schnauzer

Dear friends,

Michael Elsden, one of the official photographers at the WBMC 2007 has just released his portrait book about... us!

Have a look here:

And - above all - do not forget to open the book preview:

Good grief, that's almost a dollar a page!

True… Lost Soul – ordering it seemed a little confusing too

Hello to all!

I just thought I would share a few of my own comments and opinions about the book ‘A Gathering of Extraordinary Gentleman’. It actually arrived quite quickly especially since it’s from the US and I live in the UK. It has 71 pages with hardly any writing, just pictures. This is good for me as I am not a fan of reading :) There is only one full page of writing which gives an overview. The book is in hardback with good quality glossy pages that have very clear pictures. The book is made reasonably well and looks professional. However in my opinion it is extremely over priced. To be honest every picture in the book is on Michael Elsden’s website there are hardly any new pictures. You can enlarge the pictures on his website and have the same as the book. That said I am not disappointed with it I am pleased I got it as it brings back so many happy memories which seem oh so surreal now.

Hope this helps a little

All the best
Ben

Thanks for the kind words about the book. It was a delight to be able to photograph and produce a book of this fine, memorable event. Sadly, I have no control over the pricing other than to make a smaller, thinner, and ultimately less impressive book. Blurb, the publisher, set the prices and I wish they set them lower! I even have to buy my own books! Curses!

Anyhow, should I make it to Alaska, I will try harder to get a better deal. Anyone know any sympathetic publishers?

Hope to see you in '09. Very best,
Michael
