"A Handlebar Moustache is indeed a glorious facial hair feature. Whether it stands alone or crowns some other form of facial hair, the glory comes from it being a 'Handlebar' and not simply an ordinary moustache." - Schnauzer

We have been contacted by Beth who would like to tell you about this informal "In The Cloud" competition, which may benefit what in many people's opinions is a good cause.

I'm running my third annual best mustache contest on cigarbid.com's community forums, and I just wanted to invite your membership to participate. The contest is just for fun, but I give cigars, and t-shirts and prickly pear jelly and such to the winners.

The contest was a big hit the first two years, but this year there's a lack of excitement, so I thought perhaps I'd invite some ringers.

I am affiliated with Operation from the Heart (http://www.opfth.org), but my intention was not to solicit donations from your members or anything - and I never ask for money on any site, only cigars and snacks for the Troops - but I had no intention of doing any of that here, only to invite your members to the contest.
Your comments on this, and whether we should be promoting it. You'll have to explain to me the US context of the term "ringers" that Beth uses - in UK English it means either someone who rings a bell or a fake copy of something...

Similarly, a 'ringer' in this context would be a professional posing as an amateur and/or entering an amateur contest - think pool (billards) shark. Our members considered the professional ringers in this instance.
