Hello, I have a terribly dry mustache (it feels like straw, eep)!
I'm curious as to whether anyone else has encountered such trouble, and am hoping for advice on the matter. Perhaps there's an oily wax to moisten up the hairs?

I've just started to use conditioner every shower, and generally use tiny bits of Clubman's wax to keep it out of my mouth, but it's still awfully dry. A big thank you to anyone who can help! (:

On the days when I dont style my moustache, I use a bit of moisturizer to help keep it from getting too dry. I use "gold bond ultimate healing" lotion. I dont know if thats available where you're at, but it has a thicker consistency, and is pricier in relation to regular moisturizer. I tend to apply it once after a shower and once or twice later in the day. It also helps keep the ends of your stache from fraying as much.

Although if you are still at the stage where you are growing the middle of your stache out and its constantly going in your mouth, the vitamin E oil might be a better bet since I assume its safe to ingest.

How about a pic?

Coincidentally, I'm from your area (I think I read that you were from Philadelphia), & happened to have some Gold Bond on hand. Tried it out last night, and it's definitely not as sticky as the Vitamin E I'd been using, which is great. Seems that it might do the trick- thanks a bunch for the advice! (I'll try to have a picture taken soon).

& good luck in Alaska!

I just purchased a container of Bluebeards Original Beard Saver. It's a moisturizing conditioner made specifically for facial hair. It's definitely pricey (paid $22 for a 4oz jar), but it works better than anything else I've tried. Though it's a pretty small amount, I find a little goes a long way. I highly recommend this product. I also use their beard shampoo--good stuff, it won't dry out your skin. I also am very pleased with the Oregon Wild Hair moustache wax for keeping my tache in line. Good luck!

If you use a dryer (as i do) to tame the little blighter i recommend using a heat protecting serum. i use this stuff thats ment for use with hair straighteners but it does protect the hair from getting dried out and damaged. hope that helps.
