The Handlebar Club Forum

"A Handlebar Moustache is indeed a glorious facial hair feature. Whether it stands alone or crowns some other form of facial hair, the glory comes from it being a 'Handlebar' and not simply an ordinary moustache." - Schnauzer

:{, Pascal and I met up this evening for the Handlebar Club celebrations after a visit to a typical back street pub. Not sure that Pascal's that impressed with bitter!

There are some very serious staches in evidence. TV cameras all over us everywhere we went.

A great night of international conviviality was had by all.

Over 1,400 spectator tickets sold already.

We convinced :{ that he should compete.

Photographs will follow.

Sorry for dominating the thread but.....

We are told that all the other WBMC's have had a few hundred spectators but the good folks of Brighton did us proud and the event was a SELL OUT with well over 2,000 spectators. And that, of course does not include the entrants.

Here's just a few of the audience and the stage which will hopefully give you some idea of the atmosphere. It was like a top class pop concert with the exception that the performers were better turned out!

I'd guess that this could be the largest beard and moustache gathering ever.

All the commitee of the Handlebar Club and their helpers deserve our heartfelt thanks and sincere congratulations. I know it's been a very stressful time for them but they did us proud. Well done chaps (and chapesses)

JD and Steve, we certainly missed you. Had you been able to be here I'm sure we would have had more forum successes.

Pascal I thought was very unlucky not to have been placed but there you go it's down to what happens on the day. Hopefully he had a great time and I'd certainly like to think I made a new friend.

Much the same applies to David who's outfit was just fabulous.

Me with one of the Italian champions, whose name I should know but just escapes me - it's been a long day. More photos to follow tomorrow.

Was lending a hand with a small operational problem at the time and missed the Hungarian completely!

Hopefully will find out tomorrow.
