Huntsman
Me: Anis - just as advertised, think Pastis/Pernod...heavenly!
Wife: Black liquorice

Just bought the "Huntsman" just because it smells like Pernod. Since I can't have a glass of Absinthe due to my location this may ease the pain (or make me miss it even more).

You won't be disappointed... except that it may make your longing for that liquid heaven even stronger :beret:

bought the "All-Nighter" for the coffee & pipe tobacco smell as well for a more "manly" scent and more importantly the misses is not fond of the Pernod smell. So, I'll use it when i go home on R&R.

Only negative I can see is the tins are small and the price is the same as say Firehouse (for twice as much)

Funny, my wife doesn't like the smell of Pastis either... something about a nasty over-indulgence many years ago.

As for the price vs. amount - I wonder how much wax you use... I have such a selection now that I wonder if I will ever run out (and I am still thinking about buying more... this is habit-forming). Anyway, don't think about it too much - even at double the price it is not that expensive unless you really glop it on. And when it comes to your moustache, why not live in luxury - it is a handlebar after all :tophat:

I just rechecked and it looks like it's the same size, maybe it was another wax I was looking at. Price is not that critical, I just gave my Hndlbars to another guy I talked into starting his.

As for using a lot, I try to use the minimum to get the hairs to behave in the morning and then usually a touch up after lunch. No more than a fingernail worth for the whole thing.

Looking forward to the Man's Face Stuff though for the smell - the Firehouse's WT is... meh, OK.

No, you were right. Firehouse and Oregon WH use the same size tin as Man's Face Stuff, but the Firehouse and Oregon tins are filled to the top (1 oz.) and the Man's Face Stuff tins are not filled to the top (0.6 oz.).

B@stards  we'll see how it smells & if that makes up for it. Thinking about putting it on on top of the Firehouse or Hndlebars :tophat:

agreed on the hold, I use Wacky Tacky in the morning about 6am through the entire stache and then about 8-9am after I've had a couple cups of joe I use the Man's Face Stuff Huntsman to touch up just above the upper lip and pull it through the ends. The MFS stays soft and pliable making it an easy use for a quick touch up right out of my pocket.

I like the All Nighter for the weekend touch ups after meals, since I eat twice, and since i only really smoke the pipe on the weekends it blends well.

Man's Face Stuff is superb for my usage. A great hold and when I want to re-apply, it is like a refreshing breath mint.

Smedstad:

Have read your reviews RE: Man's face stuff and Oregon Wild hair waxes.. Are you still using either wax? Can you give a update.

I want a wax for a softer style look with good hold and one that also smells good.

Thanks in advance.

Ron, I responded to you in the Soft Wax Suggestions thread. I hope my response will help others considering a "soft look"
