IMHO, you can avoid the step 5 (tr*mming for split ends) by using a good conditioner.

The only thing I'd add is that if you are going to do item number 3 - massaging shampoo into your facial hair - then choose one that is Paraben-free like Faith In Nature and avoid those with Sodium Lauryl Suphate as an ingredient, which most of them do contain! It's reported to be an industrial detergent also used for cleaning up oily garage floors...

Absolutely correct. We also have an entire Topic dedicated to Shampoo and Conditioner within this Grooming Forum that members are encouraged to view and comment. There is some discussion on SLS there.

Light or gentle combing or brushing can also massage the area and stimulate the hair follicles.
