I recently decided to grow out a handlebar. I'm having a hello of a time trying to get the to form well, so I eventually decided to grow just the ends out and have them curved.
I think my main problem was not having the right wax, and not being ell informed on how to groom it.
I started with natural beeswax, but it didnt do any good. My hair is coarse and grown in several directions, not perfect, so grooming it is going to take some time.
I have also tried Clubman's, but after a couple uses, the cheap thin metal tube splits and it got all over the place. Very shoddy.
I would like to try Brother Love's, but of the only 2 places I could find on the net, one no longer accepts PayPal, and the other is the German manufacture site which requires a minimum of 5 items.
If anyone knows a supplier that accepts PayPal and allows 1 item, please let me know.
As for right now, I use Elmer's School Glue Stick. It's water solvent and stays stiff all day long. It washes out in the shower, or when you take a drink of water, but it works for the time being. I don't really know the detrimental effects of school glue on the hair, but until I can get a supply of good wax.. and it's only .30 cents per glue stick!

I have three, Oregon Wild Hair, Firehouse and Pinaud. In that order of preference.

Reverse order of preference for me just for reference.

I have Oregon wild hair, Hndlebar and Firehouse Wacky Tacky and Bounders, but I use Avery Glue stick most of the time. Of the waxes I like Firehouse better as it goes on smooth and holds well, but all these waxes have the slight greasiness that I don't get with the glue stick, and the glue stick gives me more styling options.
I also use Aileen's Clear Tacky Glue with great results. Much better than Got2be Glued. Aileen's is the only product that doesn't come apart by the end of the day, except glue stick in warmer weather where breath doesn't condense on it. Waxes all fail some in the body of the stache (hirsute fangs) after a better part of a day.

Two: hndlebars for primary and curly days, WT for straight days.
Plus, occasional glue stick, and got2bglued sometimes.

I tried got2b glued because it said it was water resistant but it is absolutely not water resistant. Washes right out. Aileen's Clear Tacky Glue is better.
Problem I'm finding with glue stick in cool or cold weather is that my breath condenses on it and causes it to lose some of it's shape. Fortunately, it's not cool much here in Vegas.

I currently have three wax brands: Oregon Wild Hair, Pinaud Clubman, and CSV. My favorite is Oregon Wild Hair. Clubman works well, but I don't like the metal tube for the reason mentioned previously in this thread. CSV is a soft wax that has too much petroleum jelly in it for my tastes. I'll probably give Firehouse and Hndlebars a try in the future as well.

I think I officially have mustache wax acquisition disorder (MWAD).

I'd be interested to hear you Firehouse Dark works for you... I've been thinking of ordering some myself.
