I get "mustache breakup" in the day. My 'stache seems to separate in several parts. Sometimes this happens when I smile, which makes me feel very self-conscious and embarrassed. The wax makes the mustache stiff, but the face is constantly shifting though muscle movement, both these forces seem to be the cause of the breakup.
This is not on the subject, but I seem to be developing an eery obsession with the/my mustache. I feel the urge to constantly touch and look at it. Is this healthy, doctor?

Maybe this "moustache break-up" is a result of over-waxing? Maybe if you use less wax (particularly in the centre of your stache), just to give your moustache some flow, this problem could be avoided...? Just a thought. If you prefer the look of a tightly waxed moustache that does not appear greasy and holds rock-hard, I recommend Bounder.

Bounders is a English made wax I believe? But can be bought on eBay so you should be able to get some!

You can order Bounder on the web, as you can most waxes.

The best place for Bounder I have found is from the maker here: http://www.mr-wax.com/He posts to US I believe also.

Thanks for the info. I think I am really fed up with Clubman. I suffer from moustache breakage all day. How can I work in these conditions? I am constantly forced to readjust my moustache. And I hate touching it in public, it makes me look self-obsessed.

Sounds like your troubles are because:
1. You are using Clubman. Time to use another wax.
2. When you get another wax, don't use a lot. There are many threads here that will help.
3. Try using a brush instead of a mustache comb.
4. The obsession is normal. We all go through that stage, and for some of us, it never goes away!
Great avatar!

I usually wax just once a day in the morning and will only do touch up later in the day if I have something going on in the evening. I also end up with "mustache break up" at some point during the day - generally just with the middle part, and further applications of wax just don't seem to help. I haven't yet tried EricJT's glue suggestions, although I'm thinking I may need to try one of the conditioners or the 'hair smoothing system' suggested elsewhere on the forum to try to get my 'stache more under control. In its natural form it tends more towards the baby porcupine look.
