On the eve of my 6 months of growth I was wondering how long you've managed and over how many months/years.
End to end I'm happy to say mine is 18cm.

I just measured mine (for the first time and assuming we're talking about moustache lenght LOL) and I'm at about 18.5 cm (about 7 1/4 inches) end to end. Can't say how long it took me to get to this lenght since I trimmed the ends back a little about a month ago. I think this lenght is about my "terminal" length and don't think it will get much longer than that. I'm thinking if I can keep the sissors away fromt the ends maybe it will get a little longer.

I just trimmed mine, and it's down to 9 inches (23 cm). This is the first time I had ever measured it. Took about a half inch (1 cm) off each side yesterday.

Fully stretched out tip to tip mine measures about 5.75-6 inch.
The beard is about 6 inch long too, recently just trimmed about half inch of strays off.

18,5 cm (= 7 inches and a little bit). I regulary (about once per 2 months) cut back the ends a little bit, to keep the ends of the hairs in good condition. Never tried what the maximum length can be, but I think it will not be a lot more.

Gerhard,
How to you go about trimming your mustache? Do you trim it in the "up" position, or do you comb it down, and trim it that way?
Thanks,
Bob

Thanks,
Bob Hi Bob, I trim in the ''up'' positition. So only cut back the points a little bit.

Reading the preceding posts it appears we may not be comparing apples to apples. It would be meaningful to indicate whether the measurement was taken tip to tip and whether the 'tache was "at rest" or "at full stretch" at the time. For example, I consider my 'tache to be "at rest" in the image below, as it is unsupported by any styling product and is how it is normally represented in public. In this resting state its span exceeds the width of my face and ears, when viewed straight on. It measures 18.5cm (7 1/4"), though not necessarily tip to tip as I wouldn't include any portion past verticle that has curled inward. It's also possible for me to pull the outermost whiskers back to my ear lobes - at "full stretch", as it were. This measures 27 to 28cm (about 10 3/4") tip to tip - ear lobe to ear lobe, passing below the nose. However, this is a literal and figuritive stretch - of both 'tache and skin. I also sacrificed a few whiskers in this experimentation. Moreover, I consider it a meaningless measurement, as it is not what I normally present in public. Admittedly, I might think differently if I regularily used a styling product to achieve absolute horizontal and wore it that way on a daily basis.

Ok, you are right Schnauzer, there are 2 different kinds of measuring. For me there is not too much difference, but in resting state it measures 17 cm from tip to tip at the moment.

Hi Schnauzer,
You make an excellent point, and I agree, though in most of the old photos from The Handlebar Club, they always seem to measure in the stretched position.
Cheers,
Bob
