"A Handlebar Moustache is indeed a glorious facial hair feature. Whether it stands alone or crowns some other form of facial hair, the glory comes from it being a 'Handlebar' and not simply an ordinary moustache." - Schnauzer

Wax:
hndlebars (this is the correct spelling)

Maker's Web site/product details
http://www.hndlebarsmoustachewax.com (made in LeRoy, NY, USA - the birthplace of Jell-o)

Amount and price
1 tin for 8.00 US, free shipping in USA, also has moustache brushes and combs and other hairy stuff

Reviewer’s climate
Moderate, but hot in summer and cold and snowy in winter - Great Lakes climate

Reviewer's Moustache style(s)
Usually tight curls, sometimes British, but not totally straight-line

Consistency and firmness
It is quite firm in the tin and requires some warming, although in summer I can usually use it out of the tin. Not tacky. Natural color. Stays firm for the most part, and does not need "touching up." As my moustache gets longer and fuller, I am finding that I need more hold than this wax provides. Sometimes. I find myself using another wax on the middle and this wax on the ends.

Application and visibility
Some might find the smell off-putting. It is a natural sheep/lanolin smell. I actually like the smell. Sets well. Does not frost unless you use too much of it.

Durability
Lasts well! Rarely needs a touchup. Curls hold well. You must be careful not to use too much in the middle or you will get fangs.

Additional thoughts and conclusions

Recommended. A good "first wax." Good hold, but not a tacky hold. Smell does go away. Made in USA.

Addendum: Just got a new tin of this wax. The proprietor has added a few drops of orange oil (?) to the wax, so the "natural" smell is gone. I highly recommend this wax.

Wax:
Hndlebars

Maker's Web site/product details
http://www.hndlebarsmoustachewax.com/
Avaliable at www.ebay.co.uk

Amount and price
1oz tin is $7.49 on their website, or £7.90 +£1 shipping on the UK eBay.

Reviewer’s climate

The grim North of England. Damp, wet, quite widy at times. I have not used this wax in the heat of the summer.

Reviewer's Moustache style(s)
Several: English, Hungarian, curled, natural.

Consistency and firmness

The wax is quite hard in the tin and requires warming before application. On the 'tache it provides good hold regardless of the style. It's not tacky, but it does stick to itself just enough.

Application and visibility
I apply only to the ends, warm with a hair dryer, comb through, and finish styling. It is rarely if every visible. The exception is if I comb it through during the day without heat, but restyling with the fingers is enough to blend the frost back in.

Durability
Very water resistant. Holds well for the day though the ends will sometimes start to separate in the evening. This just requires a touch-up if needed.

Additional thoughts and conclusions

This is a very good wax, not too greasy and with good holding power. I got mine before apw's review so mine has the old smell. I find it medicinal, like freshly opened gauze or band-aids, but after two minutes I don't notice it nor does it bother me in the first place. This doesn't apply if the scent has been changed.
