Amount and price:One 15g (half o/z) screw-top tin for £4.99 + £1.00 postage & packaging.
Reviewer’s climate:London - Reviewed in Winter January 2011. Cold but dry. (-5deg c to 10 deg c)
Reviewer's Moustache style(s):Small Handlebar/Hungarian
Consistency and firmness:Firm but workable
Application and visibility:Left wax pot on the top of the radiator for 2-3 mins to soften slightly. Scraped a small ammount of wax with my finger nail and rolled into a ball between thumb and index finger. Spread sparingly through my bar (I prefer a natural looking bar) and more heavily on the ends with my fingers first then combed with a 'Kent Moustache Comb' to aid distribution.
I then used the hairdryer to further aid distribution and avoid clumping.
The small churls I have held well without the visible wax look.
Durability:Needed a touch up at lunch to tame the strays but held the shape well for most of the day.
I walk approx 25 mins each way to work and the wax held up very well.
Additional thoughts and conclusions:Thoroughly reccomend.
According to the website, the smell is herbacious. As my sense of smell detection isn't great, I can tell you that it does smell great though however the smell quickly dissipates.
Also of note was the top notch customer service. My first package was horrificly delayed by Royal Mail so when I emailed Mr Foad, he promptly put another in the post with a free sample tin of his new product (not yet named but described by him as "loose to medium hold and a satin sheen finish, which can be used alone for groomed, neater facial hair or in conjunction with Foad Wax to aide distribution, and create your own unique mix and level of hold for a more styled look."
I have also trialled this new product and will write a another review accordingly.
