I was at my first moustache contest recently, the Mustachio Bashio at the Silverton Casino here in Las Vegas, and ran into two fellows who both said they thought the left side grew faster or fuller than the right, as I am suspecting. I joked that maybe we should do a survey, and find out also if men from the southern hemisphere find the right side grows faster. I found a few guys here who say the left grows faster. Any input?
I have pics of the contest at my blog, linked in my sig.

I've always thought my left side grew faster. Fullness has seemed to fluctuate a bit, although the left has been fuller than the right for a while now.

Thanks for the complement. I'm just lucky, I guess. Yours looks great as well.

Well, with my stache, I've also noticed that my left side definitely grows faster AND fuller than the right. Can be frustrating at times, but I guess the right will eventually catch up, I hope.

Thanks for the kind words, Eric. Time for a new pic for me. I'm getting to the 7 inch mark.

Well, I guess I must be the oddball. My right side definitely grows thicker than the left and a little bit faster. It also causes an asymmetrical curling as well. Attachment:

I will address that issue in the forum about it.

Yes!.....and how terribly annoying!
It seems my left is nice, full and thick... the right?.. thinner, not as much hair,...grows slower too,..I swear it!?

My left side grows thicker than the right, but the right side grows faster.
I often have to trim the right to even it up with the left but I never trim the left.

The left side grows fuller and thicker if you're right brained.

I read somewhere recently that, if you favour one side when sleeping, that side will grow slower since it is rubbed against the pillow as you sleep. That makes sense to me, especially since apparently most people favour their right side... I usually sleep on my back until my wife pokes me for snoring, then I alternate between my right and left sides (but favouring the right), and I haven't really noticed much difference in the quality of either side of my moustache. Well, there was period a while back when I felt the left side was nicer than the right and then it was the right side that was nicer... but I think that may just have been part of the natural growth cycle...right now I think both sides are pretty fine, if I do say so myself So if your moustache is chronically unbalanced, the answer may be as simple as changing your sleeping habits or as exotic as getting a snood.

Excellent insight, Smedstad. I wonder if that kind of strain on the hairs shuts down the follicles causing the hairs to fall out sooner. Scalp hair doesn't seem to be affected.
Or maybe instead of a snood I could wear a football helmet with a face guard in place while sleeping to protect the moustache! I could get a moustache logo emblazoned on the side, too! lol

Actually, I'm a left side sleeper, and my left side stache is fuller and seems to grow faster than my right. But yes, it may be sleeping patterns for some, I just don't think that's it for me. Good analogy though, probably the case w/ most people.
