I agree with this for myself, as I never felt I looked as right as I do now with a handlebar, although I had one briefly in the mid-1980s and it was very out of place. No internet support - no any support - , no awareness of contests or handlebar culture around the world. The culture has grown as well, and access to waxes and such is much better.
