Hi,

The other day I put my fiercely self-curling moutache into a straight jacket and went English-style all day, and got a lot of positive feedback here in the forum and elsewhere. So...

This thread is a challenge to you guys to post your own English efforts. Hats, pipes, tweeds, corgis, cuppa tea or whatever you want to add is welcome. Remember, my beloved glue stick will help straighten your curls if your wax won't. Just hold the curl straight while you dry it with a blowdryer.

I would love to see Sir Schnauzer in an English stache. Can't wait. You are always such a master showman with your pics.

That's cool. Looks good on you, Smed. I was hoping for more "presentation" by the gentlemen in the pics, if you know what I mean. Attire, accessories, props or some such to play the part, like I did with hat and vest, but I enjoy doing that sort of thing.

I'm sure your beard is helping keep off the chill outdoors, right?

Not a great photo of it, but it's the best I have recently. I don't wear mine in an English very often. The clothes, etc., are how I dress most days anyway.

I'm sorry to say, Nick, but we'll have to agree to disagree - your 'English' is nothing less than outstanding in the accompanying pic in your post. One of the nicest I've had the pleasure to see... suites you quite well, too.

Cheers, Gunner

What a stonker NickD! Great stuff!

Just curious WRT your clothing/lifestyle etc and your presumed love of times past, have you ever enetered the internationally renowned 'Chap Olympiad'?

Thinking of entering the 'cucumber sandwich throwing' myself next year.....with London hosting the real deal, it would be a crime not to.
Regards

Many thanks for the kind words, gents. Maybe I'll try wearing it in the English more often (I've been on a curl kick lately, but I like a change now and again).

EricJT, believe it or not I'm from Michigan ;) I have lived in England for several years now, though.

7ven, I've never entered the Olympiad, though I know some folks who have. I get stopped on the street and people ask if I know of 'The Chap'.

Well Nick, you've taken on a nice bit of the English style.

Okay, Gunner. Your turn to go English! Let's see it.

The most English I had in the version 1.0 stache. It was the first day of school this year before removal. So like day 280 or so.

lol - I've been considering it, Eric. Been busy with the holidays, but I will give it a go when I have the opportunity.

To be blunt, I have never liked 'tightening up' the stache simply because I find that it 'confuses it' when in a relaxed state; which, is how it is usually presented. I am also not fond of twisting the extremities in order to accomplish styles such as an English, as this causes some adverse training issues. For years, during my Naval career, I was required to keep it tight during the day and/or on duty when alongside (was not an issue at sea); although, this was not required when worn as a full set - only when I ran it alone (the best way, IMHO).

Anyway...
