Hi smedstad! I stumbled across this page for a couple of days ago and was very attracted by its design. The only thing not buying it instantly was a quick look onto the list of ingredients: it seems to me the good olde DIY beeswax/vaseline-mixture plus some fragrances. Further information will be provided here: http://www.captainfawcett.com/FAQ.htmlMaybe the so-called "Eclectic Materia" makes the difference Just my 2 cents...

Thanks for your input - I have to admit that the fact that is some kind of DYI blend isn't off-putting. I myself am not (currently) willing to put in the time to develop a personal blend. If these guys have made something that works well and smells good - I'm for it! I would certainly love to hear from someone who has tried it and how it compares to the *standard* waxes... I have communicated with their sales rep, who says that lavender is the most popular scent... I would just like to know how it works & feels...

I hope I didn't offend you, by what I wrote in my last posting, I really like the DIY recipe and apart from Firehouses WT, it's the only one which works best for me. And I also can understand that you don't want to develop your own wax. After years of trying to create "the perfect" organic wax mixture for myself, I've ended up with dandruff and an itchy skin . Switching back to WT and/or the DIY-wax stopped that immediatly. I stumbled accross a wax called Mr Natty Twizzle Moustache Wax recently, which I have already ordered. But you can be sure, that I will give Captain Fawcett's wax a try very soon. I certainly will come up with a review here

And don't worry about offending me; my cyber-skin is very thick - besides there was nothing to take offence at

I'm planning to get some new wax soon and would like to try something new... Could you let me know how it is - especially in comparison to Firehouse WT and perhaps Captain Fawcetts... I am also interested in hearing any experiences with Man's Face Stuff... they seem to have some intriguing scents...and Foad wax seems like it could be good... On a side note, I am having a particularly good moustache day today - more blow-drying and brushing before applying the WT and more blow-drying than normal after applying... really set well and didn't look or feel waxy. Maybe I'm finally getting the hang of it after almost using a whole tin!

Hi smedstad! Concerning Mr. Natty's wax please have a look here: http://www.handlebarclubforum.org/review-on-mr-natty-twizzle-s-moustache-wax-t750.htmlCompared to Firehouses WT: WT is soft and easy to apply, Mr. Natty's is a very dry and strong wax. Applying isn't that easy, but once you get hold of it, it works very fine and has a strong hold. A blowdryer is recommended here as well. Captain Fawcetts wax is still on my purchase list, I will certainly give it a try in the nearer future.

Thanks! Sorry I didn't notice that review of Mr. Natty's I just may give it a try... I am pleased that I have finally gotten the hang of WT, but would like something with a nice scent...

smedstad wrote: Thanks! Sorry I didn't notice that review of Mr. Natty's No problem I thought it would be easier to find under a new thread. Quote: I just may give it a try... I am pleased that I have finally gotten the hang of WT, but would like something with a nice scent... The scent is very nice if you like lavender, but it's not a long lasting one. Therefore Skippys Moustache Wax is highly recommended. Maybe you can use both of them - the one for the hold - the other one for the good scent.

Interesting idea about combining them, though...

The idea of combining waxes to achieve the desired result is not new. If memory serves, I recall reading about it on Skippy's site c2005 (prior to its current revision). It had suggested that its own product be combined with another. It may have been BL or Sterns; one of those two for certain, but can't recall which one. Point is, experiment and share your results.

My mrs bought me some of this last week! The smell is amazing! Gives a good hold if you want the natural look, but if your going for tight curls then it's not quite there for holding power! I have to touch it up half way through the day! But it's easy to work with!
