I've been using Brother's Love because of a remark at http://www.handlebarclub.co.uk/wax/morewax.shtml I'm in the process of ordering more Brother's Love but would always like to have a backup. I read some comments regarding Bounder in this forum but would like to hear from anyone who has used both. (I'm also planning on making my own at some point.) Thanks for reading! This is my first post. My wife and I just returned from two and half weeks in the UK. We spent our vacation in Cornwall and Devon, had we travelled to London I would have extended our vacation just to attend the first Friday of the month meeting. At any rate, I would appreciate any information on what you guys consider the strongest setting, clear, and non perfumey mustache wax. DH

I have little to no experience myself with wax, so can't help you. However, I know someone who has and he'll be along shortly.

I haven't tried Brother's Love. I seem to remember reading somewhere around here that it doesn't smell good. That kind of put me off. Bounder smells good (not too strong), but I have yet to get it to work properly in the cold & when it gets wet, it can also clump up a bit. That said, the hold is phenomenal! Stern's also sets up pretty stiff, but is also problematic if it gets wet. I have used Firehouse WT a good deal with mixed results. I am thinking of ordering the Dark - my WT is running out & the dark is supposed to be stiffer. One major difference between Bounder/Stern's and the other waxes I've tried is that they leave my moustache feeling lighter as opposed to the heavier feeling of the more "waxy" products.
What I really want is a waterproof wax that sets up firm, feels light on my stache and performs well in the cold...

I can only comment on Brother's Love, but the scent is very mild and not unpleasing.
I appreciate the comments.
I just ordered six tubes of Brother's Love so I'll bet set so to speak for quite a while. I will be looking into making my own.
Thanks! DH

This information is more for guys in Europe. I can give an update here and pass on some information. I ordered six tubes of Brother's Love online from http://www.rufin.de and paid almost €47 (which included shipping from Germany to the Netherlands and tax). Had I had a German address I could have ordered the same amount from http://www.giesekeshop.de for just over €28 plus €4 shipping to within Germany. I contacted them but they don't ship outside of Germany. My next order will be from them and I will have a German address lined up by then.

I don't use wax much but went through a phase of using Brothers Love [how I dislike the product name!] but found it more gel like than anything. A bonus is being able to easily wash the stuff out unlike some of the very waxy varieties.

I think it depends a lot on the type of moustache hair you have. Is it thin and soft or thick and bushy. It looks soft (and well shaped!) on your avator. Mine is thick and curly, so I need a strong wax like Firehouse or Oregon Wild Hair. You can order them easily from the US and the dollar rate is very low at the moment... The wax in tube I tried was the Clubman, but that didn't work at all for me.

I use Brother's Love as well, and I'm ordering from http://www.bartclub.de/They're a club with an online shop and ship (through German mail) to all of Europe. Costs me 29,40 + 5 eur to get 6 tubes to Belgium - I'd guess it would be exactly the same for the Netherlands.

Hey Dave as a side note I wanted to say I think your stache looks fantastic. Wish I could get mine to shape like yours. Any grooming tips you'd like to share? I know everyone's stache is different but I like hear from others how they groom thiers. I was also wondering if you trim yours or not.

Bounders is a pomade and contains gum arabic and water among other things, so it is somewhat water-vulnerable. If it dries out in the tin you are out your investment.

No, wait! Isn't wax used to remove unwanted facial hair? Sorry scottyb, bad advice - don't follow it! Please wait - someone with better advice will be along shortly.

Good luck
