"A Handlebar Moustache is indeed a glorious facial hair feature. Whether it stands alone or crowns some other form of facial hair, the glory comes from it being a 'Handlebar' and not simply an ordinary moustache." - Schnauzer

I regret to inform everyone that one of our most enthusiastic members in the beard club has passed away at his home in Big Lake, AK. James E. Mooney is survived by his wife Tanya and two sons Adam and Tony. I will express our sympathy's to Tanya on behalf of the club. This was the first year Jim took first in his category so salute Jim you went out on top. Jim was looking forward to 2009 and hoped to one day travel to europe to compete and meet other fellows who shared a passion for whiskers. He will be greatly missed in Febuary.

I'm sure all of us who never had the opportunity to meet James will be saddened by the loss of a kindred spirit.
