"A Handlebar Moustache is indeed a glorious facial hair feature. Whether it stands alone or crowns some other form of facial hair, the glory comes from it being a 'Handlebar' and not simply an ordinary moustache." - Schnauzer

Hi all,

I scanned a pic of my grand-father's grand-father, check out his awesome manly handlebar.

He was a Division artillery general, participated in the 1870 Franco-Prussian war and the "Bloody Week" of the Paris Commune (on the side of the versaillais), and functioned as general governor of French Tunisia for a while. Died in 1904.

His son, my great-grand-father, was a cavalry captain in 1914, and was killed early in the Great War during the "Race to the Sea," while attempting to rescue his commander caught in a German ambush (even though he was missing his right arm. His commander would later die from his wounds). He also sported an awesome manly handlebar. I will scan and post his pic soon.
